Journey of a Soul

When a man is on his death bed taking his final few breaths, his mind races through a cascade of memories, a vivid montage of moments that defined his life. Laughter shared, tears shed and triumphs celebrated.  Surrounded by his loved ones as he inhales air for one last time he exhales the life out of him.  A burst of light shatters and a beam shoots toward the sky as the soul departs the body and ascends beyond the sky.    As the soul leaves the planet, memories gently fade, carrying the essence of experiences and emotions. It journeys into the boundless expanse of space, gliding past the radiant star—the very source of life—before surrendering to the infinite embrace of the Universe. Stripped out of purpose, the soul drifts aimlessly through the endless expansion of the abyss. The time holds no meaning, the echoes from an existence was long forgotten.  Now drifting through the expanse of the universe. Thousands, perhaps millions of years, may have passed, but ...

Treat?

Once upon a time, a stray dog, let's call him Doggo, roamed the neighborhood, sniffing around for food. With little to find, it survived on the occasional leftovers provided by a few families or eating from trash

Like any other day, Doggo sniffed around the neighborhood for food. After finding nothing, he sat across from a vacant house with a "To-Let" sign.

After a while, a car parked beside the house, and a young couple got out. They opened the trunk and carried a lot of boxes into the vacant house.

The next day, Doggo embarked on its journey for food again, finding nothing but a half-broken biscuit.

Suddenly, he smelled food and followed the scent to the groceries brought by the young couple who had moved in the day before. Seeing the food with humans, Doggo felt disappointed and scared, as past encounters with humans had often been harmful. It whimpered in distress.

The young man heard the dog's cries, looked through his bag, took out a raw egg, cracked it, and placed it on a piece of paper.

This routine continued regularly, days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into a couple of years.

One fine day, now more sound and healthy, Doggo was sniffing around the young couple's home when he saw them carrying the same big boxes it had seen on the first day.

The "To Let" sign was back on the main gate. The couple got into their car, and as they were leaving, the young man patted Doggo's head, gave it one last treat, and said goodbye.

Now Doggo, sitting on its haunches, watched the couple drive away.

THE END
